The purpose of our new member experience is to educate our new members about the history of Alpha Chi Omega, as well as introduce them to the friendships, leadership, learning, and service of our chapter. New Members attend weekly meetings before the entire sorority’s chapter meeting where they: learn about the founding of Alpha Chi Omega, listen to presentations by the chapter executives explaining the responsibilities of members, and bond with their new member class. During the new member time period, the new member class goes on a special overnight retreat (usually to the beach!) to get to know their future sisters better. Another exciting part of the new member experience is big/little reveal, and receiving a “big sister” to guide her through her years in Alpha Chi.
Fall 17 pledge class went paddle boarding for their new member retreat!
MyJourney connects our core values of wisdom, devotion and achievement to the life experiences collegiate members face during each academic year of their college career. This monthly program is peer- facilitated; sisters from the chapter facilitate discussions and conversations on everything from negotiation to leadership, philanthropy to relationships, finances and more.
