My name is Ashton Bullard and I was the Chapter President of the Kappa Pi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega here at UNC – Wilmington last year. I joined Alpha Chi Omega in 2015 as a freshman. Over the past 3 years, Alpha Chi Omega has changed my life for the better.
Alpha Chi Omega’s core values include Academic Interest, Character, Leadership Ability, Financial Responsibility, and Personal Development. These values are what bring us together, and have helped me to strive to become the best version of myself. I had a tough time making friends when I first got to college, but after joining Alpha Chi Omega I gained lifelong friends who helped me become the confident woman I am today. Taking on leadership roles have helped me learn more about myself, and skills about working with others that I will be able to use for the rest of my life. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the help of my sisters, and each and every day I am so grateful that I get to be the chapter president of this organization, and get to help other sisters reach their goals and develop into real, strong, women.
I am now entering my Senior Year, and I realize that the best part of being an Alpha Chi Omega is getting to watch others grow as a result of their membership and falling in love with Alpha Chi Omega the same way I did. It is so rewarding to see younger sisters grow and succeed. Being able to see members portray our membership standards and live out our symphony everyday really makes me see how an organization can have such a positive impact on so many young women’s lives.
