Letter from VP Philanthropy
Welcome to the philanthropy section of the Alpha Chi Omega, Kappa Pi website! My name is Marin Miller and I currently hold the position of VP Philanthropy for the Kappa Pi chapter here at University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and I am so happy you have taken the time to learn a little more about our philanthropy, domestic violence awareness.
Our philanthropy is unique because we are an organization of women who have the opportunity to give directly back and empower women in our Wilmington community. Our chapter has taken advantage of this opportunity by creating partnerships with local organizations that advocate for the same cause, The Open Gate. At the Open Gate, we are able to provide donations in order to assist in their mission to serve those who have been affected by domestic violence. We incorporate multiple activities and drives throughout the year in order to help the women and children at The Open Gate get the most help they can get. A clothing drive, a bra drive, and a feminine drive are just a few drives we did last year!
I have felt very passionately about domestic violence awareness for a long time and am so grateful to have the opportunity to serve for an organization that takes an active stand against domestic violence! I am so proud of our chapter’s active involvement in our philanthropy and look forward to seeing future members become passionate about domestic violence awareness and make a difference in the world.
Sending much love,
